In Memory: Charles H. Kirkpatrick, MD, FAAAAI

Charles H. Kirkpatrick, MD, FAAAAI, who dedicated his career to the field of immunology, recently passed away at the age of 93.
A third generation MD, he earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, completing his internship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine before returning to the University of Kansas School of Medicine for residency. Following his training, he worked at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland before moving to the National Jewish Hospital and eventually to the University of Colorado Health Science Center.
His research focus was in immune deficiency diseases, their pathogenesis and treatment methods. Over his lifetime he published over 130 scientific articles across a 65 year career. He continued his work into his nineties, maintaining office hours and delivering presentations on immunology.
