In Brief

In Memory: Nicholas A. Pawlowski, MD

Nicholas A. Pawlowski, MD, passed away on January 5, 2023.
He completed his medical education at Georgetown University and later discovered his passion for A/I at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In 1987, he was named the Clinical Director for Allergy at CHOP and served as Section Chief for Allergy from 1993 to 2005. Over the course of his career the section grew tremendously and more than doubled in size.
Much of Dr. Pawlowski’s research time was dedicated to asthma and food allergy, and his research work on early clinical pathways for latex allergy and asthma helped set the stage for many of the pathways used daily by professionals in the A/I field today.
Dr. Pawlowski was also deeply passionate about education and proud of his role as Training Program Director. He was voted to the Teaching Honor Roll by the senior residents for twelve consecutive years, from 1991-2003. Amidst all of this, he remained dedicated to providing optimal patient care and always took the time to listen to his patient’s concerns.
