Closing Out Another Impactful Year
As we close out another impactful year for our organization, I’m excited to highlight some key features in this final issue of Impact for the year. The work our members are doing to shape the future of allergy/immunology is truly remarkable.

First and foremost, take time to meet the candidates for the AAAAI Board of Directors. Voting opened earlier this week. I urge you to take part in this critical process. As members, we all have a responsibility to help shape the future of the AAAAI. Your voice matters. Please take the time to review the candidates’ visions for our organization and vote for those whose goals most closely align with yours. Voting is open through January 6 for AAAAI Fellows (those with the FAAAAI credential) and full members to elect the next Secretary-Treasurer and three At-Large Directors.
In this issue, we also celebrate the amazing work of our members and their contributions to advancing our specialty.
- You will meet Theresa A. Bingemann, MD, FAAAAI, who integrates community involvement into her work to promote and advocate for the A/I specialty. Her story reminds us all of the importance of showcasing the unique expertise allergist/immunologists bring to patient care.
- Get to know Rebecca R. Saff, MD, PhD, FAAAAI, who was recently selected as the new host of “Conversations from the World of Allergy”, the official podcast of the AAAAI. She will succeed David Stukus, MD, FAAAAI, beginning in January.
- Learn how Sergio E. Chiarella, MD, FAAAAI, and Cosby Stone, Jr, MD, MPH, FAAAAI, navigated the often complicated process of securing grants to successfully obtain R01 grants on their first attempt—an accomplishment that’s nothing short of remarkable.
- Hear about the experiences of Jordon Jaggers, MD, and Christina G. Kwong, MD, FAAAAI, who participated in the recent Strategic Planning Retreat in Milwaukee. Theirs were two of many voices that contributed to this visionary plan that I look forward to introducing you all to at the Annual AAAAI Business Meeting during the 2025 AAAAI/WAO Joint Congress.
Speaking of the Joint Congress, be sure to read the Joint Congress Preview. Registration is open, and ticketed sessions are filling fast. Be sure to secure your housing, review the session offerings, download the event app and start building your schedule.
I hope this issue inspires you to engage, advocate and connect as we all work together to strengthen our specialty. Thank you for your continued dedication to the AAAAI.
Sincerely,
Paul V. Williams, MD, FAAAAI
