As someone passionate about community education initiatives, Carla M. Davis, MD, FAAAAI, is thrilled to add her voice and expertise to the AAAAI Ask the Expert Program.
“Ask the Expert is a wonderful resource for practitioners to obtain rapid answers to clinically relevant questions. As a member of the Ask the Expert panel, I look forward to utilizing my expertise in food allergies, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease and health disparities to assist others,” Dr. Davis said.
Dr. Davis is the Director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Food Allergy Program, where she is focused on translational research studies for assessment of clinical tolerance to food allergic disease and the identification of clinical biomarkers. “Given the rapid expansion in the food allergy literature and advancements in treatment, my evaluation of peanut oral immunotherapy sustainability by utilizing a maximum dose oral food challenge before and after treatment,* and my center's participation in the NIH funded Consortium of Food Allergy Research and Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers studies give me a unique perspective. I can bring my knowledge of cutting-edge food allergy research theories and studies to practitioners around the country to the team.”
