Attendees Enjoy Actionable Education at the 2025 AAAAI Practice Management Workshop

In July, healthcare professionals from across the country gathered at the sold out 2025 AAAAI Practice Management Workshop in Nashville, TN, to make connections, share practice advice and learn the business side of medicine.
Providing practice management education is essential at all stages of careers, but new allergists just entering the field can really benefit from this type of program in particular. In 2025, a large group of young allergists joined us in Nashville. Nearly 20% of attendees, in fact, were FITs or members of the New Allergist/Immunologist (NAIA) Assembly!

We’d like to give special recognition to Priya Bansal, MD, FAAAAI; Anil Nanda, MD, FAAAAI; and Mohamed S. Yassin, MD, FAAAAI, who generously supported travel grants for eight FITs to attend the Practice Management Workshop in Nashville, allowing them to learn the business side of medicine early in their careers so they’ll be more prepared when they complete their training.
Attendees experienced impactful education sessions on a number of topics over the course of the weekend. One session, for example, focused on expanding service lines to improve patient care and the practice’s bottom line, with a focus on penicillin allergy testing and oral immunotherapy for food allergy. Another focused on important regulatory updates that all practicing allergists need to know. The plenary talk on coding was particularly well-attended, which provided attendees with the most recent coding updates for allergy practices.

This year, the Practice Management Workshop also featured a special, interactive session, “From Concept to Solution: Leveraging Hackathons for Problem Solving in Allergy/Immunology Practice.” This unique hands-on learning opportunity allowed attendees to work in small groups to apply a hackathon perspective to a common allergy practice challenge. Participants even got creative using different materials to illustrate solutions to practice problems!
If you couldn’t make it to the 2025 event, you can still get this incredible educational resource by registering for the recordings.

Don’t Miss the 2026 Practice Management Event – Held During the 2026 AAAAI Annual Meeting

In 2026, the Practice Management Workshop will not be a standalone event held in the summer, but a course held during the Annual Meeting. This will ensure those who cannot attend a summer program have the opportunity to get this valuable education at the premier A/I event of the year!
The 2026 Practice Management Course will consist of two parts; a broader morning portion and an afternoon portion, which is geared towards FITs and new allergists. A wide variety of topics covering the business side of medicine will be explored, including coding/billing, cybersecurity, how insurance companies work, contract negotiation and more.
The course will be ticketed at $50 for Annual Meeting attendees and $80 for individuals attending the Practice Management Course only, allowing you to get this valuable practice education without needing to attend the full Annual Meeting. The afternoon session geared towards FITs and new allergists is not ticketed and will be open to both those who registered for the Practice Management Course and all general Annual Meeting attendees.
“Whether in academics, hospital-based practice or private practice, learning about practice management is essential for the allergist and immunologist,” Dr. Bansal, co-chair of the group dedicated to the Practice Management Course, said. “Even if you're unable to join the full AAAAI Annual Meeting, you can still register for this course to make sure you get all of the latest updates on coding, billing, contracting, advocacy and more!”
Registration for the Practice Management Course will open alongside registration for the Annual Meeting this October. Watch this page for more information.
